Question about SMP client

So I installed the SMP client on my Windows PC last night (my others are on Macs and my PS3) and I wanted to see what the best settings are from PPD stand point.

Following the install guide, I selected "big" as my WU size, and I'm wondering if this is the most efficient way to do this? Or should I have left it at "normal"? :hmm:

Im not an expert on Fah by any means but it's my understanding that smp wu are only given if 'big' is selected. I also think the more smp wu you complete you get a higher bonus. This may also depend on the wu give (bonus that is).

Ok...that's what it seemed like from reading the guide, but these big ones are *long* (about 36 hours processing time) so I wanted to make sure.

SMP defaults to "big", and I believe is required. Make sure you use the -smp flag and also get a passkey if you haven't already as that is the only way you will receive bonus points (Must complete 10 WU with passkey with 80% or greater completion rate in order to qualify for bonus).

Edit: I think maybe you have confused the big WU download size with the -bigadv flag. The bigadv WU require 8 threads or more.

Ah, didn't know that...I'll have to take care of that when I get home. Thanks for the tip! 🙂

Hmm, I looked at this when I went home at lunch...once I setup a passcode, do I have to use it for all my clients?

I ask, because I didn't see a place to set it up on my PS3 client.

From what i can remember I couldn't find it either. This may be because there is no possibility for a bonus since it is not running smp or bigadv?
