Hi is there anyone have and use this scanner, I just got it and it is irritating me. My old epson scanner GT-6500 (7 years old) is much faster and don't give my computer pain while scanning.

My problem with this scanner is that during scanning I have insane mouse lags and lags in media playing! It is halthing my system way to much. I can't belive a so new scanner should do this!

I have downloaded the latest drivers but that don't help.. anyone have a idia??

I hear ya! I have an old HP IIcx that is over 6 years old and in prints 20x faster than my current USB scanner! I have no idea as to why.

Hmm... I don't know off hand what it could be but it should be that slow, I have the same scanner and find it quite quick, and I've never had any issue with lags at all.

I have a 1212U (I'm not sure if this is a different model) connected to USB. When I scan with Scanwise into Photoshop, I get no slowdown when it is scanning. I have a AMD T-Bird 1000@1050 and 512mb ram.

jup it is kind of lame to have system slowdowns with almost a ghz cpu. I have the parallel model tough, but damn it is almost that I prefer to use the old Epson GT-6500 :)

Doh, looked up at agfa's homepage.. and yes it is normal to have lags during scanning with a parallel scanner!! Do all scanners who utelize the parallel port make system hangs? I know the old ones don't but it is a shame that new models do this to the system.. With my epson GT-6500 I can burn cd's without problem. But this one is no fun, just a little better quality in the image, not even faster.

Yes, every parallel port scanner I've known hangs.
That's just the way it is. You should have gotten atleast a USB scanner and SCSI if you could have afforded it.

Well I will be be using my epson GT-6500, that don't give hang (parallel and can use scsi, but don't have a scsi device in my computer) and scan a bit faster and better after I compered the image quality.. Will se if I upgrade to a usb scanner later..
