Question about setting voltage through a slocket

I've heard, two different things regarding this. One person said that if you want to set the voltage through the slocket to set the bios on auto and another said to set the bios to the same core v. as the slocket. It seems to me that you would set the bios to auto, but I'm not for sure. Does anyone know?
 
When I did it, I set the bios to the lowest setting of the slocket & set the slocket to whatever voltage I wanted.
 
I use an ASUS S370-133 slocket on an AOpen AX6BC Pro board. The ASUS instructions say to set the slocket's CPU-type jumpers to Coppermine or Celeron, as appropriate, and the voltage jumpers to "auto" to let the board detect and set the voltage to the stock amount. This is what the Good Lord Intel intended. Then up the voltage via the BIOS to the level you want and that it permits.

Or you can just set the voltage via the jumpers on the board if the BIOS voltage settings are not what you want (note that I haven't tried it the latter way, so I'm not sure it works the way you would expect).
 
Well I've heard that by using the slocket instead of the bios to set the voltage, the system is more stable at higher voltages.
