Nice area to live in if you don't mind your car getting constantly stolen/vandalized.

Drive a beater, problem solved.

1992 Ford Ranger 4x4 a target?

With or without optional peener flap exhaust pipe mounting brackets?

Did you know those are called do rags?

;)

It would be smart to bus. By bus, the 271 takes you there in about 20 minutes during rush hour.

that is right on bus 271 route which will take you directly to belllevue downtown. it is probably the best option. commuting either direction on 520 sucks in the morning, coming back at 4:30 should be not too bad.

Sounds like I'll be taking the bus. Thanks so much guys. I'm really unfamiliar with the Seattle area in spite of being from WA.

Anybody wanna start planning a summer OT meet in Seattle? ;)

8am is alright. but 8:00ish if you are still on the road, then you are in for a long ride.
Once in a while, some douchebags will crash their cars on the 520 bridge, then the traffic will be completely frozen.

How bad is traffic in Seattle on sunday afternoons? I'm flying into Seattle this sunday, and driving to SE washington from seattle-tacoma intl.

Unless you have to blaze along at 80, take SR410 Chinook Pass. The view of the mountain is worth it. Rainier is so close you think you could touch it.
I drive that way to Yakima any time I can, and it saves me about 15 minutes from the south end, vs. I-90. It is a good 30 miles shorter for me, but slower driving.
From Seatac, take I-5 south to SR18, East on SR18 to SR167, south on 167 to SR410.

I'll check into that, thanks. I just happen to be going to Yakima :)

Bring your camera. Lake Tipsoo at the top of the pass is a great photo OP. The alpine wildflowers are just getting started.

I'd say about 30-40 minutes on a good/regular rush hour. Take the bus, definitely.

<-----Communtes north on 405 every morning AAAALL the way from the beginning to exit 10. :(
