question about santa cruz :)

Is there only one version of santa cruz or there's several of them.

I just grab one from compUSA and it said "Santa Cruz: 5.1 Channel Surround Sound".

And when i went to buy.com it said "Santa Cruz: Next-generation PCI Sound Card for the ultimate Listening Experience"

Is there any different between one of them? and if there which one is newer? 🙂

Yeah, they've updated the box a few times to showcase the positive reviews the product has picked up over the years, but otherwise the card has remained the same. I'm not aware of any major revisions anyway. The Santa Cruz retail, OEM, and Sonic Fury are all the essentially the same card.

Ya know, when the Santa Cruz first came out (over two years ago), it couldn't hold a dime against the SBLive 5.1 'cause the drivers were so bad (yeah, I was an early adopter), but now after alot of fine tuning, they're nearly perfect. Just goes to show what you can do with a product as long as you support it properly.
