Does anyone know offhand what size input plug the kick drum pedal for the Rock Band drum kit is? I've got a Yamaha DD-65 and I'm wondering if I could plug the Rock Band pedal into the aux of the DD-65 as an alternative to the crappy pedal Yamaha supplies.

I'm no drum/instrument aficionado, but I find it hard to believe there's a worse kick pedal out there than RB's. Would it really be an improvement?

A lot of the cheaper electric drum pads don't come with a 'bass pedal' but rather not much more than a button on a tether that you put on the ground. My buddy had this and it was awful. I'd much rather have the RB one.

Yeah, pretty much, the Yamaha comes with a thin waffle like pad that has a press-me-here spot in the middle, that you have to hit just right or you get no sound; it's rather hard to use without using shoes.

Just due to the fact that the Rock Band pedal at least functions like a real pedal is quite an improvement, and fifteen bucks is far more cost effective than one hundred plus for a electric kick from Yamaha or Roland.

It is a 1/8" phono plug.

Edit: This is the cable I used to make a custom pedal just to give you a better idea.
