Question about reusing marinade for grilling

NFS4

OK, I marinated some steaks last week using about 2 cup of marinade (soy sauce, extra virgin olive oil, brown sugar, lemon pepper, Jack Daniels). I had a ton left over, so I just decided to freeze it b/c I wasn't about to throw away perfectly good marinade.

My question is, can I use that same marinade on some raw salmon? I plan on grilling the salmon and was worried if any excess blood that got into the marinade from the steak would be a problem with the salmon? I guess it would just burn off anyway while cooking, but I just wanted t make sure.

I wouldn't reuse marinade. Once it's been on raw meat/poultry/fish it should be discarded.

BTW-That marinade would be horribly overpowering on salmon. Take some salt, pepper, a tiny bit of mace, a dash of celery salt, and a touch of parsley. Just sprinkle that on the salmon, let sit in the fridge for 15-30 minutes and then cook it in the oven for about 15 minutes (or until done) with a tab of butter on the top.

if it hasnt touched any other food, its ok to reuse. if its the left over from the stuff that was on the steak... the food police and unsanitary thigs police say DO NOT reuse it

I've used it before on salmon and it's DELICIOUS. It tastes like the Terayaki Salmon dish I had at a Japanese restaraunt a few months back. I went to allrecipes.com to find a similar recipe. I liked it so much that I tried it on steak.

My rule of thumb when it comes to food is if you have any doubts at all don't use it.

Making more marinade will cost you $1.00 and 10 minutes? That is pretty cheat.

don't resuse it unless you heat it thoroughly on your stove first, then cool it then perhaps add a bit more olive oil.

Aren't some toxins resistant to cooking? If bacteria has been allowed to produce such toxins already - cooking won't help.

That's what I was thinking, boil it.

I don't see how anything could survive in that marinade. You have A. Tons of salt from the Soy. B. Acid from the lemon. and C. Alcohol
