Question about returning an item

I bought the SanDisk Cruzer Micro from Best Buy and I thought it was defective so I took it back. Come to find out, I guess that's how they are. However, with the one I exchanged it for, upon opening it up and inspecting the item closer, there are a few scratches on the item. Would it be anal to go back and ask for another one that looks brand spanking new since that's what I paid for?
