Question about resolution setings on a Canon digital camera

I always leave the setting on the highest resolution. I'm going on a trip and I was thinking of lowering the resoltion to save space on the memory card. Will it have any affect on picture quality? It's a Canon 300sd 4.0 mp.

I'm going to go with "it depends on what you plan on doing with the images."

It should still look okay. Depends on what resolution you plan on using. I don't think I'd go lower than 1600

I got the SD500 with a 512mb SD card and I have it set to 1600x1200 and it gives me appox 1500 pics. That resolution should be more than enough for standard prints.

agree. they are inexpensive nowadays. Or bring a laptop to upload pics.
