Question about Repair in WinXP...

If I use my WinXP Pro disk to do a repair install on a WinXP Home installation would that stay home and use the home license or my Pro? However, if I can get away with some way to reinstall Windows Explorer without that I would appreciate it.

What I'm really trying to say is: help me fix Windows Explorer so that when I click on Properties for My Computer something actually happens! There is no System in Control Panel also and the user is an Administrator.

Check your running services to see if World Wide Web Publishing is running. If so, stop it and set it to manual and try the system properties again.

run sfc /scannow from a command prompt. then run chkdsk /r from a command prompt. test again and get back to us.
