I am preparing to reformat, but for some reason I've missplaced all my windows crap (keycodes, etc)....

Is there any program I can use to extract the CD key from my windows before I reformat, or is it even necessary in XP Pro's reformat??

Thanks in advance

You should be able to right click on the 'my computer' icon and select properties to see the cd key. You will need it to reinstall Windows.

You can try this. I don't believe that it has any spyware and if it does why would you care because you are reinstalling. I've tested it and I gave a link to this in another topic and the guy said it worked.

I apologize for the incorrect information in the previous post. AtTheGates reply will find the cd key. In an effort to redeem myself here is freeware utility that does the same.
