Question about RAM in general

If you have two sticks of RAM, one is bad, the other isn't, and you put the bad one in DIMM1 and the good one in DIMM2, will the computer POST or will it think the RAM is bad?

Define your use of "bad". If it is dead then simply leave it out of your computer.

if it's dead, and it's in DIMM1, will it prevent the comp from posting.... I'm not sure if it is dead or not...

If it is dead then the PC will not post. Bad memory can also cause BSOD's.
