Last year I bought a PS2 and a service plan for it because I destroyed my first PS2 by spilling beer on it.

It has started acting up. It wont read some of my blue disc bottoms. I am probably going to take it in to BB and get a new PS2.

So my question.

The new PS2's are 149.99 and I payed 199.99 for mine. Will BB give me the difference of 50 bucks on a giftcard or just even exchange it for the PS2. My theory is that I payed for a 200.00 product and now you are giving me a 150.00 product. Ideas? Experiences?

Its a service plan, not an insurance plan. They are only obligated to fix or replece as they see fit. So I guess they could just fix your old one if they wanted too. Then you would be missing out on the cost of a new one minus repair costs.....

heh yeah. sure BB is going to give NOT only a new PS2 but $50 hahahahah oh man. thats funny.

considering only retards/morons/dumbfvcks are the only ones that would think this is even possible.

see another reason I asked this, is cause my mom vacumn broke after a few months. she had a psp but at the time it broke the vacums price rose in cost and they made her pay the difference to get a new vacumn. this would be a double standard.

Your mom could have fought that and won.

she tried but the just said take the broken vacumn and leave. I then went in and they did the same b.s. we ended up paying the difference. hence, i was planning on using that as part of my argument if they said no for the ps2

yep you mom should have fought. she had a PSP there is NO reason she should have had to pay more.

pitty.

you didn't go to another BB? you didn't pull out the PSP and ask where it says you have to pay more for the new vacuum?

how did it go up in cost? did she buy it on sale? not that it matters. the idea of the PSP is to fix it or replace it. she didn't get that even though she paid for it.

looks like BB seen her coming a mile away. as they say there is a sucker born every minute.

If the warranty you got was an exchange warranty, then you must get the same model (or next one up if that one is discontinued) in terms of specifications. Replacements have absolutely nothing to do with what you originally paid for it, so no you will not get any credit.
As for what happened to your PS2, it is certainly not covered. However, you may be able to lie about it, & they may repair it anyway.
If your warranty was a repair warranty, things are a bit more up to their discretion, which is likely why they were less helpful with the vacuum.

psp doesn't do replacements based off of money value of the product... when you get replacement its supposed to be for a "compareable product" something that's atleast as good as your old product, if not better... so in your case for your PS2... you're gonna get another PS2 most likely but definetly not $50 back... ha, you wish... question, have you have the PS2 for longer than a year?

this was the only bb in our area that had it in stock, at that time. no she did not buy it on sale. I dont know why it went up 20 dollars in price. they were just being douches I guess... oh well. I guess I will try it and see what happens... whats the worst I get a new PS2.

no the worst is they send out the ps2 to be fixed. or they figure you are as easy as your mother and refuse to fix it.

You got screwed over with the vacuum, sadly.
They should have sent the vacuum away to be repaired, technically.

Bringing that up when you try to exchange your PS2 won't likely help with that, though.
I would play the dumb customer & say it doesn't read your discs anymore; they may exchange it; it may be looked it first...better hope for an exchange, lol.
