question about Promise IDE controller PCI

I have an ATA66 and ATA100 controller that both show up as SCSI controller in my control panel/system devices
This is confusing because it is an IDE right? so why does it say SCSI? does really perform like one or just some marketing thing to make it look cool?

It is normal that is show up in device manager as a sSCSI device, even thou it is really a IDE device. Don't worry about it.

Its normal for controller card to show up as scsi, if you intend to boot from card you have to go into bios and select boot from scsi.

I do not have to select from bios to boot from this card at all, it just boot up like onboard IDE so it's not really a true SCSI or even SCSI at all but a very good IDE controller.
since my onboard controller is ATA33 I rather not use them so I am only using my controller to boot from.
