question about prime 95 failure...

when i get the error of : ROUNDING was .5 expected .4
Hardware failure detected after running for only 1 minute, i'm assuming that means a stability issue? or is that telling me that my chip can't handle the overclock, or what? my specs are in my sig, except i'm trying to bench now at 4.48ghz... temps are at 33 celcius idle, never breaks 40 load.

Yup, not quite stable... Try supplying a bit more voltage... BTW try OCCT for torture testing, it's more intensive than Prime95...

not to crap onto your thread or anything but i didn't feel like creating another thread...............sometimes when i'm testing an overclock, and while testing with prime95, instead of prime95 showing an error and stopping; the whole computer just freezes, nothing works, have to do a cold boot...is this the same as an unstable OC?

Yes.....

Yup, all these posts are correct op. Be sure not to increase the voltage too much as you will fry your processor. Either increase voltage, and or cooling performance or reduce clock. You may be able to lower your temps and increase your voltage but still not be able to overclock anymore, in that case, you've essentially maxed out your processor's speed. (Although I'm sure a peltier or liquid nitrogen could bring those clocks up higher😛)
