Question about power voltage and charging in other countries

i have a averatec 3225 and i was wondering if i went to say taiwan/china/japan, would i need to buy a special converter or can i just plug in normally. i remember we use like 120 volt and they use 230 or something. anyone?

Check your power supply tag, it should tell you the input voltages allowed. Most power supplies I've seen are universal and so can handle 110 - 240v @ 50-60Hz. There could be a problem with the plug though, they often wont physically fit in other countries. You can pick up a pack of plug adapters at any travel supply store.

Japan uses the same plugs, 100v at either 50 or 60hz depending on switch side of the country you are on.

Dell laptop bought from USA works fine in India (With a physical convertor)

Brookstone or maybe Radio Shack sells a multi adapter that allows you to interface your U.S. unit with multiple plug outlet types of different countries in case you are visiting more than one.

Taiwan uses 110V 60hz just like in the USA. China should be 220, but most A/C adaptors should be able to handle that as well.
