hey guys i have a amd 761 mobo with a via southbridge that controls the ide devices...and i get really poor hard disk performance for some reason
if i bought a promise ide tx2 100 ide controller would my hd performance be up to speed? (and yes before anyone asks my hd is running in DMA mode 5, UATA 100) it just seems a lot slower and choppier than when i used to run the drive in my old intel P3 system
and yeah i've tried doing a bunch of clean installs and different ide driver versions with no avail...i'm running windowsxp
