Question about partitioning

I want to put another partition on my c drive. first it is possible to put multiple partitions on the same drive? secondly, If I use partition magic will it totally erase the c drive? how does that work with the erasing? thank you very much

The whole idea of products like PM (Partition Magic) is that they can create/resize partitions on the fly. But there is always a chance of problems, so do a backup just to be safe. For the best results, delete anything you don't need from the C partition (including emptying the "recycle bin") and then do a defrag as the last thing before running PM.

yup, partition magic is a very cool program that can do what you need.. but as Zepper said, make a backup of your important files just in case.. there shouldn't be any problems though..

When you say your "C" drive you really mean your physical hard drive. "C" is just the letter Windows assigns to the single partition. An important distinction.
