Considering the m100 or the palm v. I know the m100 is alot newer in terms of the release date but is there any advantages it has over the V? Both of them have 2mbs of ram but are the functions the same? Which model of the palm would you recommend for a college student with a part-time IS job? Thanks

I know being in college that you may be tight with money. But I would highly recommend that you get a pda with 8mb of ram. They aren't that much more. There are places selling used palms, but I can't find my bookmark to at least one of those. You could probably find a closeout IIIxe for around $150 or less.

I suggest the Palm IIIXE also. I am I.S. Administrator at our company and we use and support Palm IIIXE's, M105's and and VIIX's. The M105 has plenty of memory, but doesn't allow you to upgrade the operating system. The VIIX is fine if you want wireless access, but if that doesn't serve you, the best Palm is the IIIXE, if you do a price search on cnet.com you should fine a good deal.

I would suggest spending a bit of money and getting a TRGPro (www.handera.com). It's about the same thing as a palm 3xe, but it has a compact flash slot on it. It also has 8 MB RAM, flashable ROM, etc... The CF slot will allow you to hook into your college's ethernet and check e-mail or do whatever on the Internet. I'm currently at a summer program in a college (still in high school :(), and after lugging around my laptop for a few days, I decided to leave it in my room and just use my TRGPro+keyboard+network card to access the internet (Eudora for email, AIM, palmscape/eudoraweb for WWW, and avantgo), word process (wordsmith), and some other things. Plus you can use a 1 GB drive in the TRGpro. The network card eats up some battery, but I use NiMH and can easily recharge the batteries overnight if needed.
Hope this helps.

I'm using a Sony PEG-300 and it's great for what I use it for. A new version, the S320 is going to be available within the next month which has OS 4.0 and a faster processor and such for an MSRP of $199.99 (Might be able to get it cheaper if Staples offers it then use a coupon, etc.)
