Question about pagefiles on Windows 2000

There is an issue with Macromedia Director 6 and machines with more than 1GB of physical Ram. When you run the software it states that is can only be run on machines with at least 3MB of Virtual Memory.

On these workstations, I am using the default settings (1520MB - 3200MB). I have found that if I set the minimum to 128MB and leave the maximum alone, the software runs fine.

Will the end-users have any issues with the minimum set so low? With 1GB or ram I don't expect them to dip into their virtual memory much, but I don't want to take any chances. Thanks.

It really depends on what they're doing, but if they're just doing normal office stuff plus Director, I think they'll be fine.

What you normally want is for page file + physical RAM to be the absolute maximum amount of memory that you ever use.

I personally have 1GB of RAM and set the page file to a minimum of 128MB and leave it at that. I've never had any problems.
