Question about OS compatibility with a Liteon LTD-163

Hi,

I bought a couple of Liteon LTD-163 mainly to use a coupon and save on shipping. I noticed something weird though. All of the boxes say that the product was produced in December of 2001, but only 1 of the boxes says that it is XP compatible. Does this mean that the player without the XP compatible printed on the outside will not work with XP right out of the box? Would somoene need to update the drivers or software to get XP to work?

You think a 10GB ide drive bought two years before XP came out would have issues with XP just because it could not have said XP compatible on the label?

I meant out of the box.. I don't want to someone to get me for false advertising. Some people (not me) have issues with updating or getting updated drivers btw..
