Question about Orangekid's Proxy

minendo

Ok I find this odd. For some reason, it says that I only have two clients but just the other day I had three. In fact I do have three, but for some reason one of them just disappeared. Any reason why this would happen?

Well that explains it: minendo's missing client was given to ShotgunSteve!! 😀

No, seriously I have no idea.. just interesting that one person lost one and another gained one. 😉

What does that number signify, anyway? I have 13 computers crunching, all pointed at OK's. Should it reflect that, or does it indicate something else?

It should indicate each IP address that has sent results under my name to his proxy.

If you click the number it will show you what IP's have submitted results.

If you have a client that submits results under some sort of dial-up that does not have static IP they you can contact Orange Kid and he can combine clients. Like I am shown to have about 34 clients right now when actually I only have 6-7 so if I told him to group the similar IP's under like clients I would only have 6-7 clients and whenever a client submitted a WU under one of the IPs it had grouped it would not show up as a seperate client anymore.

OK may have deleted that client or a more likely situation is that it hadn't submitted any results in the time perios that is specified for the Queue an dwas automatically deleted. I think the time for that is set to 2 weeks but I'm not sure.

I find it odd now because I had my girlfriend send in results from her computer and now her IP shows up, but now I am the missing one. Weird.

each time a client connects to the Q with a different IPaddress the Q thinks it is a different client.......this accounts for more clients than a person actually has.........if a client does not connect with in at least 8 days.........it will be deleted.......this happens whether it is on static or dynamic ip's.

If you have clients that are on a static ip and you want "custom" names let me know..........it can be done.............this is only for static ip clients
