They have a 100% deposit bonus where your deposit is upped 100%. I was wondering what is stopping me from depositing 50 dollars and then taking out 100 dollars.

Is there a certain # of games you have to play before you can withdraw? Is there a certain number of days you have to wait?
Anyone know how Full Tilt Poker works (I've been playing PlayMoney for a while, just not real money)

Rakeback is worth way more than deposit bonus. Try to sign up with rakeback, but before that learn enough not to be a losing player.

i think that the best strategy is to go around tables and fold (if you get no blind) if your hand sucks, and to go around until you get a good hand and stick.
this way, no one knows who you are / can't read you + you have an excellent hand when you do stay

of course, i've only tried this in PlayMoney which is different, but the strategy should still work even in RealMoney...

this way, no one knows who you are / can't read you + you have an excellent hand when you do stay

You can't avoid blinds by table hopping if that's your plan. You have to post the blinds to get dealt in no matter what. Also, that idea sucks because while no one can read you, you can't read anyone else either. Remember, in NL the biggest factor is your opponent, not the quality of your cards. I've dragged in $1000 pots with very weak hands because I knew my opponent. Conversely, I've folded very very strong hands... because I knew my opponent. See where I'm going with this 😉

i find it extremely hard to read people in online poker because i can't see his face, and it's harder to concentrate on reading in online poker since since i'm looking at a computer screen - i don't know if you can relate.

in real life poker, i can read people pretty easily since there's no other table to turn to

i find it extremely hard to read people in online poker because i can't see his face, and it's harder to concentrate on reading in online poker since since i'm looking at a computer screen - i don't know if you can relate.

in real life poker, i can read people pretty easily since there's no other table to turn to

You're thinking more in terms of looking for tells, which obviously is just about impossible in online poker. There are tells, but nothing reliable enough to be used imo.

Reading in online poker is more about watching how people will play a hand and then paying attention when they show down. Will a guy play QTo UTG or does he only play strong hands from early position? Will he bet marginal hands strongly to try to drive people out and bet strong hands weak to try to trap players, or vice a versa. Does he chase draws? Etc etc etc. It's boring, but you have to really pay attention if you want to win.

For every $1 in rake you participate in (not sure about FTP defines 'participate' but some sites define it as merely being dealt cards, while others define it as calling a pre-flop bet), you earn 1 point. Each point you earn releases 6 cents. Therefore, to be able to release your $50 bonus, you must participate in $50/$.06=$833.33 of rake hands. The maximum rake per hand is $3; therefore the very minimum amount of hands you must play (at full rake of $3 per hand) is 278 hands (833.33/3). This amount of hands will always be a little more because not all hands are raked (no flop no drop). There is nothing to prevent someone from playing the absolute minimum amount of hands required and taking the bonus money (in addition to whatever bankroll you have left) and withdrawing that amount, because this minimum hands safeguard is already in place.

But as already mentioned in this thread, for those playing a decent amount of hands per month, rakeback is almost always more profitable than bonus hunting. Many sites offer 27% rakeback for FTP which means for every $3 of rake you pay, you get 81 cents of that back, versus 18 cents per hand max for the signup bonus. It should be noted though, that for the purposes of rakeback, it is almost always defined as the amount of rake you pay for the hands you've won. That means if you lost the hand, you paid no rake and get no rakeback.

The greatest thing about rakeback is that if you are a break even player, everything you earn through rakeback is pure profit. It is a very powerful means to not only recoup your loses, but also to accentuate your earnings.

of course if your that good that u can win major $$$ in 6 weeks, more power to you.
