Question about OneNote 2007 cache file

So I noticed I was running out of hard drive space on my X60 tablet. I only have an 80GB hard drive in the laptop, and I had 6 GB free.

So I was checking folders to see if there were any large files that I could delete; I came across the OneNote offline cache file - it was 24.0 GB! The question I have is whether it's safe to delete this cache file (I have my notes backed up to three different locations).

What exactly is the cache file used for, anyway? Just curious.

Thanks!

Wonderful tool i use every day at school on my tablet PC.

Sadly i don't have an answer to the question.

Rename it and move it somewhere else first. See if that impacts your usage--if it doesn't, then its safe to say that you can delete it.
