Question about nutrition before long tests

I have three APs this week:

- AP English Language & Composition; 3 hour test starting around 8AM

- AP Statistics; 3 hour test starting around 12:30PM

- AP US History; 3 hour-5 minute test starting around 8AM


My question is, what should I do for the two morning exams and for the one afternoon exam? I don't want to burn out by the time I get to the free response sections.

I'm trying to remember what I did for last year's APs and for SAT I, but I'm not really sure. A little advice please.

I took a GMAT prep class and the instructor said that a Snickers bar is the perfect food for standardized testing. Eat one before the exam and it will give you the energy to get through it.

Food with alot of protein is good. Beef jerky, mixed nuts, etc. etc.

So I'm guessing lay off sugars and carbs and get something like a Clif bar?

Why? So you can build strong muscles during the test?? I'd think you'd want energy. :confused:

You don't want to eat sugary stuff because you'll end up crashing during the test since the sugar is quickly used up. The stuff Klin mentioned will give you some long term energy for the duration of the test.

For me, I'll just eat a normal breakfast before my APs this year - A bowl of cereal, small glass of oj, glass of milk.

I don't think it's a good to be eating entirely different things. Who knows how your body will react to it. The last thing you want during a test is indegestion.

Eat light, healthy, familiar foods to your diet. Eat some healthy fats/protein so you don't get hungry during the test, as these foods digest longer.

Whatever you do, don't eat dense, unhealthy food like fast food burgers or something. At least for me, that'll cripple test performance.
