Question about nokia 8260 battery

I used to have a 6160, and I remember that the salesperson told me only to charge the battery when it was really low so I wouldn't mess up the battery's memory or something like that.... is this the same case with the 8260?

cchen - never heard that before. I charge it nightly regardless of battery life, because if you wait till it's really low, but then get a phone call (and the phone call lasts for like an hour) your phone won't last half that time.

yeah, thats the same w/ cordless phones. You shouldnt charge it unless the battery is near drained. you reduce your battery life every time you recharge it before its empty.

There are several different battery types, NiMH, NiCAD, and Li-Ion, and Poly-Ion. The newer phones have Li-Ion (well most of the do) or Poly-Ion. These do not have a "memory" and can be charged whenever it is necessary. So you don't need to drain the battery of the 8260 (which I have)before charging. In order to get full charge out of it, you'll need to charge about 2-3 hours more after it says battery full (trickle charge).

i charge when i feel like it, how I feel like it and I have no problems. Don't get all technical and just use the damn cool looking phone

danny~!
