question about networking 2 computers.

I am wanting connect two computers together (via crossover cable) for the purpose of internet sharing (dial-up). One computer will have onboard lan with a Marvell 10/100/1000 chipset. The other computer will have a PCI card with a Realtek 10/100 chipset (8100C, I think). Will there be any compatibility issues between the two? Would it be better to just get two of the same PCI nic? Thanks. 🙂
