Question about my Vcore on my X2

So I have a X2 3800+ on my DFI Ultra D witha XP-90. Now I have my chip at at weak 2.2Ghz and one core fails prime after like 20 minutes although the temp does not go any higher then like 35. I decided to take a look at the vcore of the chip on CPU-Z and it stays at a steady 1.31v instead of the stock 1.35. So does this mean my board in undervolting it then?

I went into my bios to change the vcore but am overwhelmed by all the options, what feature am I looking to change in my bios to raise the voltage. They are all set to auto so I am not exactly sure of the correct one to change on my DFI.

Edit: What should be my max voltage for this setup?

Not necessarily. The voltages stated by CPU-Z, other utilities are typically incorrect. Even what the BIOS reports is a little off. The only way to know for sure is to use a voltage MM. what you set should be close to what you are getting unless your PSU is weak.

Vcore is the setting in the BIOS. The max setting is subject to much debate. If you want to play it safe, stay within 10% of the stock voltage,

got my x2 running @2.7 right now with vcore at 1.55 which is my boards max volts.

try and rasie the vcore on your board to 1.4 and see if it passes prime. if it doesent try and give it a little more. if it still doesnt your just going to have to live with the fact the your processor cannot overclock well. they are all different. you win some you lose some.

CPU-Z is pretty accurate for me, and I'm using the same motherboard as you. You're not going to get much of an overclock on stock voltage unless you get a darling of a chip - put some more volts into the sucker! I've got my X2 3800+ @ 2.5 Ghz @ 1.488V vcore.

ALright thaks for the tip guys. Now I just need to find the vcore option to change it. Maybe I have gone blind but dont see anything called "vcore" like on my abit board. There is one called CPU VID or something like that which is defaulted to StartUp right now. It has options that looks very close to vcore rates. IS that the right option on my Ultra-D?
