question about my surge protector

I have a Monster brand power strip/surge protector in my room with two gaming consoles and a tv plugged into it. I am looking at the "Ground Fault OK" light which happens to be green, but half of the light is dim and half is bright. I don't remember the manual saying that would indicate anything, anyone here have any experience with this?

I am planning to upgrade to a heavier-duty Belkin Pure AV unit but haven't scraped together the money yet, any suggestions on this product? Thanks.

Sounds like the indicator diffuser (Fresnel?) may not have its LED centered or the optics are just poor and reveal the die off center mounting (typical characteristic of T 1 3/4 size indicator LED packages).

Ok, that doesn't sound serious. Thanks. Any opinions on the Belkin unit?

They're basic devices MOV and LC "hash" filtering. A 1kJ rating or higher is recommended for longer life. Look for products with steel or aluminum chassis' and discrete sockets - NOT the all plastic design with molded outlets. Those produce a higher resistance connection and will overheat especially with loads >6A continuous.
