question about my parents HP Desktop (n00b question probably)

wondering if you guys knew how i could get into the BIOS (or if i can at all) of my parents HP computer. when the computer boots up, there is no screen or whatever giving me the option to go to a set up. I tried pressing delete as well as the F buttons, but it didn't work. anyone know how i can get into the BIOS?

The exact model number would be helpful, however this page relates to modifying the BIOS on a Pavilion.

hmm...the sites says f1 when the logo comes up. guess i didn't hit it at the right time.

On my HP Pavilion laptop, it is extremely difficult to hit F2 at exactly the right time to get into bios. I discovered that hitting it repeatedly, very rapidly, for the 1-2 seconds before the logo appears almost always works for me. YMMV.
