Question about my HD Dish network receiver settings

Ok I have a samsung 720p/1080i tv. In my options menu for the DN receiver I have the option of selecting 720p or 1080i....which one?

What type of TV?

Look at the native resolution of the TV and then pick the one most closely corresponding to this. This is typically 720p with a 720p/1080i TV

Actually, I have a 720p native TV and found that, for whatever reason, the Dish HD feed looks slightly better when I set it to 1080i. It could also just be my imagination, but, just try both and see which you think looks better (if either)

720p should always look better on a native 720p TV. If you have it at 1080i then the TV has to de-interlace the signal which will cause jaggies and other distortions in the picture.

That being said trust your eyes. If you can't see a difference is there a difference 🙂
