Question about my DSL service

Im wondering something.I currently use my DSL service at my home, with my modem. Will i be able to use my modem and my account in someone else house?

AFAIK, if the other house has DSL service activated on the phone line, you should be able to connect. otherwise, obviously not.

Short answer, no.

Long answer-- maybe-- if the house you are in is connected to the same exchange, and also has its own DSL service. But if the house you are at already has DSL service, why would they need your modem in the first place?

It's not like a dial-up connection. DSL lines are specifically configured for DSL access. Think of it as a network connection using a phone cable. If you disconnect your PC and go hook it up to someone else's phone line, will you still be on the same network? The answer is no.
