Question about my Dell 2005FP picture quality

I'm currently using a Geforce FX5200 with my Dell 2005FPW with a DVI connection. My monitor picture quality seems to be a little grainy when I'm watching DVDs and is a little blurry during normal use.

I recall my 2000FP looking much clearer and sharper. I was running a Ti4400 as that time. Since then I sold both.

Is it possible that I need a better video card? I know the FX5200 is a crappy ass card so I'm thinking that may be the cause. Would it improve the picture quality if I bought a 6600 or 6800? Or is it a possibility that my monitor has defects?

Any help would be appreciated.

I am using DVI-D. Analog gets really blurry.

I guess my real question is: Does the video card itself affect monitor picture quality?

It shouldn't if you're using DVI, but I think some cards are known to use crappy DVI transmitters...do you have perhaps another video card you could test the monitor with? Borrow one from a friend or something?
