question about my bios

i want to ask opinions on my advanced chipset options before i play around with them



here are the 3 options i have questions on:

AGP Aperture size: currently set at 64 can go up to 256
AGP Transfer Rate: currently set at AGP4x.... i have an 8x compat. mobo and a radeon 9700pro
AGP Fast Write support: disabled




what should i set these three things to? thanx

you can set the apeture size higher but ati recommends 64mb

transfer rates won't really affect many (if any) games yet but enable it if you have any problems then switch it back

fast writes should be enabled

From what I've heard those settings are fine. 64MB for Video is fine, I think there are some tweaks on that, but I don't play around with those. You can prolly bump the 9700 up to 8x mode, cause it supports it, I dunno if you'll have any probs or not, you'll just have to find that out. I don't think you will notice a difference right now, you might when DOOM III hit's your machine.

You set your aniasaling, and filetering with the ATI control panel, that's all I would worry about. Fast Write....I would turn it on, and boot to windblows and see what happens. I really don't think the 9700 needs any help right now, and even if you get 2 more fps, your not going to know.

IF you send me your 9700 I'll be glad to play around in my BIOS with it... 🙂

thanks guys, i am not gonna bother with 8x cause i noticed no difference at all, ill try it agian when doom3 comes out (which is when btw)



also a side question, when does deus ex II come out 🙂
