This is probably a stupid question but here goes...it it possible to run two monitors from 2 video cards? as in 1 from an agp card and 1 a pci? Im predicting not, bacause i would have probably heard of such an implememtation before!
 
Yes, that is the way everyone did it before all of these dual head cards came around. If you are using windows it is really easy to setup too.
 
Dual monitor support IS possible...and quite easy to do. I used to run 3 monitors off 3 video cards in fact.

Win98 and Win2k support up to about 10 monitors at once.

All you need is 2 video cards...once you have that and they're both installed, go into display properties and choose the second monitor and check "extend my windows desktop onto this monitor" and you're good to go
