Question about mobile GPUs

Hi,
I was wondering if I might get some advice on purchasing a new computer. I am looking at the Alienware x17 which got really good reviews and has the Nvidia 580m GPU in it.

I was wondering if now is a good time to buy or not.

Is there any latest and greatest mobile GPU technology worth waiting for. I'm not locked to Nvidia or AMD.

Better place to ask would be on the notebookreview forums but anyways it would be better to get a clevo/sager they have more options for less money and you could just get dual cards if you need something better than the gtx 580m, 6990m is pretty much on the same level but as of right now their isn't anything better nor anything else coming out soon.
