Question about Memory

I am planning to Upgrade my computer in the following ways.

Radeon 9600 to Geforce 6800 Gt

and add (2x512) kingston memory to an already existing 512 pc3200 Memory

If it helps any, i use an Gigabyte GA-K8NS pro

Is having more than 1 gig of RAm too much?

Im the kind of person that keeps open 2 differant firefox windows, photoshop and flash in the background. I also do some decentley heavy gaming (Battlefield 2)

Also- Is there much diffeance between value ram and hyperx ram?

no 2 GB will be good I personally wouldnt get a total of 1 gig of ram for a gaming upgrade

So for a gaming rig I shouldnt get more than 1 gig? If so why?

no no I said you get 2gb of ram is what I meant..

because it'll speed it up.. like 1 gig is plenty .. for now .. except for BF2 it could really use the extra gig to help it go faster and quicken the loading times and whatnot .. And BF2 is just the beginning of needing (well not needing, but being comfortable) with 2 GB of RAM
