I have something like this from Philips (it is multi colored instead of white lights)

Anyway, the transformer/power adapter doesn't reach to our covered porch. Thus, my concern is that even with an extension cord, the power adapter will be exposed to rain and snow in the coming months. This does not seem okay.
Is there someyhing I should do to protect the power adapter from water?
