Question about LCD Display - Text Quality

I'm rebuilding a computer with a new motherboard, but everything else is the same, including the graphics adapter. I'm not impressed with the clarity of the displayed text. They seem fuzzy, and I don't recall them being like this before the rebuild. Here are some details:

LG Flatron 19" Digital input
1024x768 at 75 Hz refresh
Color quality - Highest - 32 bit (does not seem any different at 16 bit)
Display resolution - 96 dpi
The option to smooth edges of the screen fonts is set at Clear Type, but Standard does not seem to make much difference.

Any suggestions as to what could be doing this?
 
Eh, I doubt 1024x768 is the native resolution of that monitor. For best results always running your resolution the same as the native resolution of your display. You won't get the clearest picture running anything else.
 
jtvang, thank you for the suggestion. I've switched to 1280x1024 which I believe is the native resolution. The text has sharpened right up. Now however, the size seems small. Perhaps I have just forgotten where I was before. I've tried the dpi change to 120 and also the font size in Explorer, and not seen much difference. Damn, the things you forget when you have to do the whole bloody setup of a computer all over again.
 
You can change font size in two places in your Display Properties

1) Appearance Tab> Font Size
2)Settings> Advanced> DPI

Also if your download IE 8 Beta
It scales the page to the amount of zoom so if you zoom to 125% it remembers this and you dont have to scroll for side to side...

IE8 works very well IMHO
