Question about Intel

Hey all. I am getting ready to build my first intel rig, and was thinking of the Asus 800-E motherboard. Coming from NForce2, where we had basically one driver set for everything,

I am not exactly sure what all drivers I will need for my mobo. I went to Asus site, and saw an Ide, a sound, and some other older ones, one for the promise controller etc. Can anyone point me to the location of a download of everything I will need, or a list of all the drivers I will wanna make sure to get.

I wouldn't wanna leave out any drivers and have that cause me to not get the maximum performance out of this board.
Note that I have looked through the sticky, but still couldn't really tackle a definitive list, so if there is one in there, then sorry for the redundancy.

Thanks,
Smithers

It'll come with a CD that installs everything. THen you can just go back to Asus' site and look for updates on the stuff the CD installed.

The board will come with all the drivers you need. You just need to update the ones that have changed. Or you could just download all the one's from Asus's website to be safe. Don't forget the intel inf drivers.

That is why I asked. I am buying a refurb, so I can't just watch and see what the cd installs and update that. The "intel inf drivers" is that something that will be on Asus webpage, or elsewhere?

Yes it should be on their site. If not you can get it from Intels site. They are called the "Intel Application Accelerator" or IAA there are two different types one for RAID and a normal one. The one on Asus's site is the one for RAID.

Orion: Do you happen to have this board and could give me a list of stuff I need. So far, from what I see on the site for this board we have:

The newest BIOS which seems to be 1011
The promise fastrack raid driver
The soundmax driver
The Intel Application Accelerator RAID Edition
Promise IDE driver(do I need this?)
The network adapter software

And that is all I see.

Anything else?
