Question about installing different OS's on Laptops..

Greetings,

I'm really considering buying a Lenovo 3000 Y410, which you can see at http://www.tigerdirect.com/app...=3509675&Sku=T70-14002 .

My question arose when reading one of the reviews in which a user wrote
but its not that - only vista compatible, u cant install xp on it on the whole... i
.

Does this mean that I cannot completely format the HDD and install a (valid) copy of XP? I don't see how I wouldn't be able to, but I haven't bought a laptop in years.

Thanks in advance.

That's what that reviewer says. I would question that, however. It is mainly a multimedia machine, and perhaps not all of the functions will work properly in XP. Lenovo does not offer XP as an option and does not have a "customization" button for that particular model.

It will work, but reduced function. It will work full function if you go to the Lenovo site and your model has XP drivers for downloads besides Vista.

Get Vista Premium or Ultimate, you'll be happier.
