Question about installing Arch

I have decided that I haven't had enough pain yet and will be installing Arch soon, on top of Zenwalk and Windows Vista.

So this is my situation.

40GB drive: Zenwalk (controls booting with Lilo, chainloads to Windows)
400GB drive: Windows

I'm thinking I could shrink my Windows partition some and stick Arch on the end, installing LiLo in the /boot partition, then edit my Zenwalk's Lilo.conf and menu.lst to chainload to Arch.

Wow, distros still use LILO?

But what you're thinking should probably work although I've never done it myself.

Arch is pretty straight forward, just make sure not to install grub if you want to use lilo as it will mess up your boot loader. If you do choose to install grub from arch remember it will not create entries by default so you will need to remake them from scratch for Zenwalk and Windows.

I also think Arch has the best package manager ever.

Yeah, pacman is quite nice It is similar to apt as well, so it is quick to pick up if you've used any debian-based distribution before.

Well, it appears there is something wrong with my Arch CD. After a clean install (wiped disk and MBR, nothing left AFAIK) GRUB pops up with an error 17. (error 13 if I try windows)
