Question about Infrared blasters

I'm putting together a smart home mini-system for my living room. I am looking at this Infrared emitter box:

Basically an amp/splitter for IR signals. My question is simply how long can I extend an IR emitter off of that? It looks like it uses a mono minijack cable. Here's an example of an IR emitter:

I'd be looking to extend about 30 feet max.

Edit: Nevermind, got it. CAT5 + 100 feet should be great 😀

Ir transmitting and receiving is pretty forgiving.
Some of the schemes used even have error correcting built in.

I just through together a project the other day that takes in ir from one remote then sends out the commands of another remote using a pic micro. I had buttons on one remote that I wanted to operate a device it wasn't designed to.

You can get some good distances using a single pair of wires. Cat5 is a bit overkill 🙂
