Question about IE browser

hi,

i'm using Win2000 Pro at work, and i have a question about IE browser. wherever there is a small box area where you can type words in (whether for log-on, searching something on Google, Yahoo, etc.), when you double-click the box, a whole history of previous entries show up (list of words that was ever typed in that box).

does anyone know how to erase the list??? i've tried going under 'Internet Options' and erasing history and cookies, and anything else i could think of. we have a number of shared computer at work, and i don't want personal info to show up in these boxes. (some peoples' social security numbers, home addresses, etc. have been showing up) thanks.

Just select the one you want to delete when in the box and hit the delete key on your keyboard.

Or go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Content -> AutoComplete -> Clear Forms

Not sure where the exact setting is, but you could always return IE to default and then choose to disable Autocomplete.

See above. That is the spot.🙂

You might also try clearing your IE history by going to Tools > Internet Options > Clear History button on the General tab.

Didn't want all of those pr0n searches popping up when your gf used your computer eh. 😉

he said its a work computer, so technically they could see what you are doing anyway if they wanted...no need to hide it 😛
