Question about Hurricanes

i would think that the salt is too heavy to be evaporated into water vapor which is what clouds are made of, unless you are talking about the storm surge.

I like this forum for one thing if it isn't for anything else. It doesn't allow you to delete your threads.

Reason why I quoted the first post in its entirety.

You know that in Buffalo when it snows fish fall from the sky since it's lake effect snow?

It's regular rainwater. So it's freshwater.

Hurricanes don't suck up the water that it is passing over. Otherwise you would see fish and other aquatic life raining down on land.

ROFLMAOBBQCHARLIEHURRICANESALTTOIC.

you cant evaporate salt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

go put salt and water in a pot, boil all the water away, and then dry out the salt, you will have as much salt left as you started with.

Is it mostly fresh water or salt water?

Hurricanes drop fresh water.

Typhoons, on the other hand, pour down salt water...

edit: the Pacific has more salt...

Unfortunately, I am not a meteorologist (though I hear they have good job security 😉 ), but I would think that winds of 100MPH would churn up some water and blast it into the air as salt water.

No, it doesn't The water churned up is the storm surge or something like that.
