Wow, only $10 for keeping the order open for a month? That's too bad (unless you were also given $20 credit earlier like some people got). Better than nothing I suppose.

Mine was canceled also so I called talked to a girl named Rebecca she made it right. She promptly got me a Sapphire for the $203 with 1 day shipping. I had 2 on order but 1 is better then none and got the $10 cancellation credit still and setup my $30 rebate from sapphire so I can't complain. I would call at least and try if you got canceled. I told her lots of other people had switches and if they honored those with other manufactured cards we all should have the chance. This was the first time I called also. I haven't called yet because I was actually hoping it would be closer to Dec for the order as i am sort of strapped for cash at the moment. But I still got 1 so it will be here friday.

Hmmm, I'm not sure how that is possible.

1. Seems everyone aronud the 'net who ordered this is getting the batch cancellation notice today, so Amazon CSRs wouldn't be able to fufill them if they tried.

2. Amazon has refused to allow any of the successful trades to do so with 3rd party vendors. If they don't have them then they can't make an independent seller sell it. All of us who got ours did so with stock Amzon had only,

3. With that said, the Amazon's Sapphires were sold out from early trade ins by Saturday last week and they still don't have them in stock. The XFXs were depleted a day or two later, which is why some of the latest success stories were Visionteks - definitely no new Sapphires).

They have Sapphires in stock they had 18 when I got mine. They have 3 left now. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...00_i00_details. I wouldn't lie. Here is my order sheet. She knocked off a $100 from the top then added the promotion I told her I was missing out on the $20 rebate so it came to 203.99. I even asked her if the Sapphire had a rebate she said it wasn't listed but I had remembered that I saw one for that card somewhere. I don't know why she did it all I can say is she was super nice even flirty to be honest. I had her laughing so I think that helped. Or I am just lucky. She never asked if I was a back-order I just said that they were fulfilling orders with other cards and that since I saw others getting cards I just assumed mine would be switched at some point too and felt like I got the shaft because I hadn't called and bugged them for a change and was actually being patient. She agreed and that pretty much sums it up.

Just got my order cancelled, and the $10 promotional credit. I initiated a chat and asked the CSR whether she would "swap" my order for a Sapphire card. She refused, so I then asked for an additional promo credit. She gave me another $20. So all told I got $50 in Amazon credit from this "deal": $20 (initiated a chat last week after the rebate disappeared and asked them to issue a credit for the value of the rebate) + $10 (promo credit in cancellation e-mail) + $20 (promo credit from today's chat) = $50. I still would have rather had the HD 6970 for $203, but the credits are nice.

I'm not familiar with how their credit system works but couldn't you apply the $50 credit to buying another card? So you buy a regular 6970 they offer and get a $50 off deal? If so that sounds pretty nice to me. $50 saved is $50 saved.

Yes, I agree, $50 saved is $50 saved. Of course, the original deal was pretty smoking ($203 AR for the 6970), and currently 6970's are going for around $350 on Amazon. So even with the $50 credit, buying a 6970 would be more than I want to spend. But I'm still very happy with the credit; I'll just use it to buy something besides a video card.

To add a data point, I just got the same deal. Good luck!

Wow! Did you speak to a CSR on the phone also, or did you chat? I have chatted twice, to no avail (well, as stated above, I got more promotional credit, but no card swap). Any tips for how you got the CSR to come around? Did it take much persistence?

From what I'm seeing in this thread it appears some CSR are able to get away with it and some are not. Guessing different call centers or would they be all going to same call center? Different supervisors in the chain allowing it too I suspect.

I called their support line and got connected with a nice lady from the US. I told her that I had waited three weeks while it was back ordered and had previously been told by a different CSR that it would definitely ship, she just wasn't sure when (which is true). I mentioned how 'people online' had been able to change their order to one that was in stock from a different company. She asked which one I was looking at, I told her which one I wanted and it was done. She gave me the same price without me asking.

called one final time and this rep says it's against their policy to do substitutions on this items so they seem to FINALLY be aware of this item and other customers getting lucky and getting the switches. I asked if I can also receive this treatment and the rep said other reps will get fired if they are discovered for honoring this. Oh well atleast i got a 50$ promo and 10 Gift code after all this.

Coolness man. Sorry for doubting you. Enjoy your card! It's good to see Amazon hooking other people up now. They still should have had ONE policy for us all, but they seem to be more flexible on this than I thought they'd be this late in.

I am trying to upload a couple of pics of the video cards and I don't have an attachment link on my Post Reply page. What gives?
