Question about graphics design for logos...

Which is better?

• Microsoft Photodraw 2000
• Adobe Illustrator 10
• Adobe Photoshop 7

Waddya think? I'm a newb and I want to make a decent logo. It would basically be two words and various greyshaded silver bubbles behind it.

Photoshop with the right plug in if you not experienced. Not to say illustrator isnt nice but it is hard to learn. There are some programs that make logos and even a few free websites. Failing that there are alot of books on photoshop on logos design.

for a real business type/quality logo? probably illustrator because you illustrate stuff. not photoshop where you photochop stuff.

It doesn't matter what software you're using, really. You want actual design skills. Of course, if you actually want to print the thing, you'll want vector art (Illustrator). If you have a well designed logo that you drew in photoshop, it will be trivial to redraw it in Illustrator for production. If you have a crappy logo you drew in Illustrator, it's going to be crappy regardless of what you do with it.

Not to sound like a dick to villager, but he really has no idea what he's talking about. There is no "logo" plug-in for photoshop, and Illustrator is no harder to use than photoshop is.

I worked in graphic design for several years, I never once did any work on a production logo in photoshop (or anything other than Illustrator).

I'm in graphic design for quite a while too, and I agree. I've done logos in CorelDraw and other assorted vector programs, but Illustrator is pretty much the industry standard for logo design.
