ok,

I have been going out with this girl for couple months and I have good feeling about it. Now the question is how exactly do you deal with her making more money than you? I mean god she probably makes almost double. At first I thought I would be ok but now I don't know how I would deal with it in long term. She is a pharmacist and me a software eng :(. Looking at the market I think I am lucky just to have a job but still how do you guys deal with it?

What specifically is the problem?

If you can't pin-point anything, you are just making your own worries out of nothing.

How is this a problem? Does she rub your nose in it? If so, dump her. If not, don't even worry about it.

well how do you deal with the fact that she makes almost double in terms of salary. I have never been in such a situation so don't know how people deal with it.

You're an inferior piece of crap, deal with it.

j/k - in another couple years my wife will be making 2x-3x the dough I will be. Whoop dee doo. She loves her work, it takes stress off of my employement needs, and we'll both be quite happy. Where's the problem?

That's what my wife will be in a couple years, Pharm D. Also, smart is a relative term. Yeh, they have an advanced degree, but their knowledge is pretty narrowed down to specific areas. I hang out a lot with the pharmacy students and I wouldn't classify any of them as brainiacs by any stretch of the word. Just hard workers.

So...I'm guessing she's not an expert with computers and/or programming either? My wife knows more about real estate than I do but I know more about computers than she does. It is called complementing each other.

It is only as big of a deal as you make it. Look on the bright side, if you ever get laid off, she can afford to make you her he-b!tch until you get another job!

Yup. You are worrying about nothing here.

Most likely something to do with the cultural stereotype that the male gotta be the more successful one, etc etc.

Unless your girlfriend makes any buzz, I really don't see why you worry about it. Or is this a Skoorb effect?

well this chick is pretty cool.

Oh yeah and they do work hard and deserve every cent they make. She works almost 12hr shift standing all day long. They have no chairs :( compared to that I love my job.

my live in-girlfriend makes more than i do.

There is no *I* in team.
If you love each other, who makes more money shouldn't be important.

Whatever you do,don't sing this song,it'll make her feel terrible.

Keep in mind that most women view money as being just the stuff a couple needs to live on,it's only money,it's not an indicator of anybody's moral character or their intelligence.Money btw is not the only thing a person brings to the table in a relationship,I'm quite sure she knows that and appreciates all the good things about you.

As far as "what to do?" about it, you need to sit down and talk to her about your feelings and hear hers, just as you would about any other issue in the relationship that was concerning you.Communicate, with her,not with us,I bet it will ease your mind considerably:)

Btw,Pharmacists are cool:)
