I'm a PVR/editing n00b.
My first question is... what's the difference between the Plextor ConvertX TV-402U and WinTV-PVR-350 PCI Card? Do they both do the same thing, but the plextor model is a external capture unit? Also is the WinTV-PVR-350 the best Hauppauge card to use with a PVR unit? I have looked at their HD model, but I have heard nothing but bad news regarding it and I can't even find it any where to buy. It would be nice to be able to record HD signals, but it isn't a must. But it would be nice.
BTW is Sage just a piece of software, or is there hardware that I need to purchase as well? I see the Streamzap remote, but I'm not that sure if I would need it or not. Is there any benefits with using the Streamzap remote from the Hauppauge remote?
I'm a n00b and any sort of direction would be nice!
