Question about file permissions on Windows XP NTFS

I locked a folder to deny read/write to anyone other than Admin on a USB hard drive. If someone stole the drive, and hooked it up to another PC logged in as admin, can he see the folder contents?

Also, when setting file permissions, what is System Creator? or System? (they are listed like they're users)

I think the rights would change to the admin SID, so they couldn't...until they took ownership. NTFS permissions are for local security and network security...if your USB drives contain critical data that you don't want others to read, then encrypt the drive.

long story short, you plug that drive into another box and the admin of that box can get into it.

The only workaround would be to use EFS or other encryption.
